The setup seemed a little clumsy. But I have a long 8'6" rod that is pretty stiff. I brought it just for this rig. I made a few passes and was about to switch to a taildancer. Then... I caught a lake trout. We trolled taildancers and the spoons/divers. The spoons caught nearly all the trout. I just bought a few more... Jet diver |

You need to go slower with Fish Seekers, and they don't float, so snags are more difficult. If I know a Jet Diver will hit the depth I want, I like the Jet Diver better, but it's tough to beat the Fish Seeker for quickly changing the running depth of your spoon. |

The downside is tying many knots and it's a bit awkward to land fish with the leader between the diver and your lure; I'm sure you noticed that. Little Cleos are great, but you may also want to try Sutton spoons or other flutter spoons. Those spoons are too light to troll without some sort of weight or diver - they are tailor-made for trolling with jet divers. |
