Just the one thats in the water. My experience is round bend treble hooks lose the most fish. Some treble styles you will lose very few fish despite barbless and other styles you will lose several throughout the day especially if you don't have a net. Boat side trying to get a fish lipper on them is where they tend to get off.

Jigs and single hook lures get the best grip. It is not so far fetched an idea to trade out modern round bend black nickel treble hooks with a single In-line replacement. Such hooks are available at specialty shops and in fact there is a thread on this site about them complete with links. You could probably do a search and find it. That will certainly be my tack should I fish the Quetico again and ditch the barbless round bend trebles. Lots of "fish on", "fish off" despite rumors to the contrary.

To answer your question, just the hooks on the lure that's tied to your line. Just have a pliers handy and pinch down the barbs before using the lure.

So what's the story with barbless hooks in Quetico? Do all the lures in your tackle box need to be barbless or just the one you're using at that time?
