I have done quite a bit of that type fishing and generally speaking the further you walk the better the fishing. Best I have ever done was a pile of 18" cuts and some pretty decent lakers on another trip but mostly trout around 12 to 14". I have never got into the big Brookies like what I seen on that video. That would be a dream type trip!! I love canoe country but I do miss Big Sky Country! A few more Canadian trips and then it might be time to head back out west.

Once again BP must have been day dreaming and instead of keeping it to himself, posted it here so that all of become unproductive as we all drift away dreaming of epic adventures. Thanks for sharing BP, it was just what I needed as I listen to the wind howl outside.

Backpacking with steak, eggs, bacon and butter - I want to camp with those guys. And talk about great marketing - who here doesn't want one of those fireboxes after watching that??

My son does frequent backpacking and fishing trips to Alpine Lakes in the High Uintas in Utah. Lots of nice brookies, and an occasional Grayling.
I always visit him in Winter...he tells me I have to come out in the summer, then he'll take me

Thanks, BP. Cool video. Food becomes so important in backcountry, doesn't it?
