You nailed it Jim.

I might have to carry a surf rod with me to catch one.
How do you prepare them?

1. Youtube link to drone fishing.

2. Discuss.

Very cool video. This is not much different than a aqua view camera or a depth finder with down scan or side scan imaging. All three are using technology to actually see where the fish are and present your bait. Catching fish that size would pay for the setup pretty quick.

I don't think you can use drones in the BWCA or Quetico.

Are there official regs regarding drones in the B or Q? I ask because I've seen plenty of videos on youtube where the footage was obviously shot using a drone.

Yes. With only certain exceptions that are spelled out in other legislation, the BWCAW is covered by wilderness act of 1964 which states:

PROHIBITION OF CERTAIN USES
(c) Except as specifically provided for in this Act, and subject to existing private rights, there shall be no commercial enterprise and no permanent road within any wilderness area designated by this Act and except as necessary to meet minimum requirements for the administration of the area for the purpose of this Act (including measures required in emergencies involving the health and safety of persons within the area), there shall be no temporary road, no use of motor vehicles, motorized equipment or motorboats, no landing of aircraft, no other form of mechanical transport, and no structure or installation within any such area.

Drones are motorized. I don’t know the Canadian laws pertaining to drones and the Q.

Drones are illegal in Quetico also. Check the regs.
