Gonna venture a little south and try crescent and dumbbell and silver island this year. Last survey I seen was 2007 and only 4 fish. |

yogi59weedr: "Ya. Just use to the Ely area. Made a few trips over to the gunfli t side, liked it but really know the Ely side spots... I just checked and pulled this from the dnr lake report.... "Several different species were introduced, but since 1992 stocking has been limited to lake trout yearlings every even year. Due to poor growth and survival of stocked fish, stocking was discontinued after 2010. This population assessment consisted of three different net types: shallow water gillnet sets, deep water gillnet sets, and trapnet sets. Lake trout numbers in Ojibway Lake have generally been low, but the 2015 lake trout catch of 0.1/deep gill net is the lowest catch rate since 1977. The only trout caught was 10 inches, weighed 0.3 pounds, was three years old, and was not stocked." Im still considering a visit to ojibway sometime but for the other species and scenery. |

That's funny how a fish won't take off in a lake.. I mean it's got depth and a for race base..... Still will probably give it a day. What was the latest info on the eyes. |
