That is a very sad day. Hoping it doesn't come here for at least another 3 weeks.

Air out the pop ups. Wiped down all the gear (snowed on us last time out). Packed all the poles in their cases. Put all the ice fishing gear up in the rafters. The only thing that buffered it was looking at the canoes on their racks.....

I agree. I went Monday and Tuesday of this week because I knew they would be close to the last days... I haven't put my stuff away yet but I really don't think I'll get to use it again.

Oh, yeah. I forgot how far south you're at.

We went last saturday and did pretty good on gills and crappies. Monday and Tues we got a couple inches of rain, melted all the snow, and had some pretty bad flooding. Ate away shoreline ice bad and rose water levels so much that the most of the ice pulled back off shore. I think on dead lakes with no current there is safe ice out in the middle, but really sketchy getting on. Any lake with current is totally untrustworthy. Last few days have been 40's and 50's also. So, it's not about seasons and regulations......it's about bad ice. I was hoping for another 2 weeks.
