I like the look of those.........I often like plain colored unpainted heads as well.

I like those Marabou jigs for panfish. You can tip them with a wax worm or leave them as is. When the feathers get wet they move gently in the water with every movement. Great attraction for fish.

I haven't used those specific jigs, but a BIG white maribou jig is dynamite for lake trout. I have caught some tanker pike on them, and I assume you're correct that they'd be dynamite for pretty much everything that swims up there. I know they've really caught on for guys fishing in cold water for smallies, often under a float.

Thanks for the link master. My supply was getting down there a little and now you have found the perfect replacement for me. A few different sizes and colors and I'll be good to go.

Gotta love a jig with a quality hook! That’s why I began pouring my own jigs, to control quality and style. Marabou and a quality hook always a winner!!

Good for you. Seems like it would be fun to tie your own stuff. Plus you get to choose your hook AND save some money. Those jigs I linked to aren't exactly cheap.
I had contacted Charlie Brewer and asked if they would do a run of slider jigs for me but with Owner hooks which I would provide. They never responded. I love the little 1/16 oz original slider heads but they have cost me some really big fish on occasion. Of course I have caught lots of big fish with them as well but their hook is the weak link.
There are no jig molds commercially available for the slider heads or I would make them myself. ;-(

They work great floated under a slip bobber with a wax worm in the river for steelhead

I’m not a fan of the Vmc jigs. One is to heavy the other to light. I use 3/32 jigs. Heavy enough to cast but light enough for the right speed swimming in the water.
The best jighead I have ever used is the OutKast tackle 3/32 money jig darter head. If your tying your own look into these.
I order my jigs from a guy in mn. He uses a round jig head but the way he ties the marabou is second to none. I have caught thousands of big smallies and walleyes on these jigs. They are my go to presentation on Mille lacs and other Clearwater lakes.

Here is a new jig and a used jig. Somewhere in the middle of these two fishes the best. After ten fish they work better.  
I stop using them and tie a new one on when they look like the second photo.

3/32? That's the one to use?
I am aware of how subtle differences can make all the difference. The 3/16 Daredevil is not commonly available (1/8 and 1/4 are) and is the correct choice IMO for typical trout fishing out west.

Looking through the recent issue of In-Fisherman and noticed a nice marabou jig. Seems like it would be ideal for use with a slip bobber or tipped with a leech. I would not go into canoe country in the spring without some in case you hit the dreaded mayfly hatch. Surely a little brown Marabou jig would be a good match to the hatch.
Plus I bet the jig would take just about any game fish which happens upon it........from crappie and Perch to bass and walleye.
I am getting the fishing itch can you tell? Haven't had a single day off in quite a few months......blah!
