Just a heads up [and a little jab too;) ] I noticed that some special locations are being closed to protect walleye spawning areas including locations in the BWCA. See link below.

Read the "Why closures are necessary" at the bottom. Too bad we don't care about those fish on Lake Mille Lacs.

Well we do care about Mille Lacs we just have limited authority over the regulations due to a misguided Liberal Supreme Court ruling.

The MN DNR is handicapped at Mille Lacs that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t manage other areas.

Ive heard a buzz that the Rainy is finally on its way to closure. Personally Id love to see a floating opener to protect spawning fish. They are too valuable of resource.

Agree with your last statement.
Regarding my Mille Lacs jab- by "we" I mean the court ruling, the spineless politicians, the stuck-in-the-middle-but-won't-speak-the-truth MN DNR (I know, I know they just want to keep their jobs), and mostly just all of us who allow this to happen.

My reason for posting the closures was to help the DNR spread the word on these closures but then I read that statement and couldn't resist.
