Anyone have any experience targeting spring post-spawn pike South of Lac La Croix? I've never been to this area in particular, nor have I fished the Ely side in Spring. The Voyageur map suggests good numbers of pike along the Lynx-Hustler-Oyster-Rocky-Green-Gebe-Pocket (etc.) chain, and research suggests fishing shallow back bays with creek inlets, with North shorelines warming quicker.

Tripping June 4-? and geared up with a variety of topwater, surface, and subsurface poppers and streamers. Floating and sinking lines, 8 wt and 7 wt rods. Also love Smallies, but have had good accidental success there. Spin fishing tactics welcome, too!

I have fished the east side of LLC Boulder Bay area and Agnes many times from mid May to mid June. I don't remember a trip without someone in our group catching a pike near or over 40", the largest being over 44". We mainly fish for pike with ciscoes under a bobber from our campsite, but have caught them on jig and a rainbow chub from the canoe. The north end of Agnes and Boulder bay have shallower flats, and the bigger pike feed on the walleye there. We always tied short stringers in those areas because the pike would pick walleye off if you didn't. I did rather enjoy looking down to see a huge pike tugging on the stringer!
