mastertangler	06/27/2018 06:38AM   Thanks Christopher.............it's not really a fishing trip. Staying at the Fontana village lodge with my wife. I probably won't rent a boat to fish and am resisting the temptation to bring my canoe. This is all about her.........after all she gives me the OK to go every year for a month long canoe adventure. but maybe I can sneak away early in the morning and find a trail out to a point. That Axe Blade seems like the ticket in August where they commonly catch spotted bass, smallies and walleye at depths they use downriggers to fish. There is some very interesting camping and fishing possibilities on the lake as well. Reserved campsites and plenty of water. Looks to be a pretty place. Several utube videos about kayaking and camping on the lengthy body of water. If I like it I might go back and check out the paddling. The fall topwater bite sounds amazing.
mastertangler	06/25/2018 05:54PM   Impressive little package. Heavy for its size. Good hooking despite its unusual hook configuration. When I first placed a tackle warehouse order it was several months of back order before I got my hands on them. Today was the trial run. I liked it mmediately and several small fish were taken. Then a pike and the next cast a smallish Muskie took it away from me. Some lures you can just tell. This is a winner. Cast and retrieve or jigging it will take fish no doubt. Damaki axe blade

I have one left and will probably have to place another order for 3 or 4 more. A tad pricey but the hooks and ball bearing swivel along with overall quality makes it OK. Heading to Fontana lodge on Fontana lake in the Smokies for several days and I think this might be the ticket in the steeply dropping shorelines. Hopefully my wife will get sick of me and suggest I go do some fishing ;-)

" Sort of odd in a curious sort of way. I never liked the Little George. Didn't like the way it went through the water, didn't like the profile and never caught a single fish with it (I know others have). I am sort of all in with the axe blade however which is kinda weird seeing that they are similar .......I like the more enlongated profile of the axe blade, I like the engineering feat of the ball bearing swivel and much prefer the willow blade. I also like the double hooks. It's seems one lure is in the Stone Age and one is something George Jetson would use if George Jetson fished. Trivia question; was there ever an episode on the Jetsons which included fishing? Bonus Question; is there fish in the future?
