Not on purpose. I'd think that for what it would cost and if you figure your time is worth anything you would be way ahead buying an Ugly Stik Elite for 50 bucks. But I did see this on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVi903ROGRs Good luck let us know how it goes if you decide to do it.

Why would you do that?
I am reminded of the humerous saying "that's a terrible idea........what time"

Hacksaw and duct tape ought to be all you need.
On second thought, don’t ruin your ugly Stik!

I would do it as close to the butt end as possible to help retain the original action.

I had a 6’ St. Croix rod that I turned into a 2-piece rod. One section ended up at 5’6” and the other piece was 6”. It didn’t turn out the way I desired.

Based on experience all you need is a one piece rod and a car door. Doesn't always give you the clean cut you may be hoping for but in terms of quick and effective it can't be beat.

it can be done using a brass rod ferrule and some two part epoxy.

Yeah, I've turned quite a few one-piecers into two (or more) piecers.

Has anyone ever tried to turn a one piece fishing rod into a two piece rod? If so, how did you do it (tools, materials etc..), and how did it turn out?
I have an old Ugly Stick I would be willing to conduct this experiment on, but I would like to give myself a chance of succeding before attempting.
