Planning on taking my Navy buddies to Knife Lake this year and we're really banking on catching some fish. Does anyone have any advice like rigs, bait or any known honey holes would be greatly apprechiated. No preference on type of fish, happy with anything and everything.

Thanks

Bring live bait. That time of year, you will be limited to crawlers. Find sunken humps that come up to 8'-12' below the surface and jig with crawler and jig with twister tail and jig with tube around the hump. Troll constantly. Deep trolling with purple taildancer and heavier spoons will have you picking up lake trout. Mid level trolling will give you the chance at anything else (walleye, smallmouth, northern). Cast and blast in bays and around islands with Husky Jerks. Go topwater if calm. Bring a simple depth finder if you can, helps to find the humps.
