Knife Lake
Most remote lake in Minnesota

I've fished Disappointment three times and always did well on the walleye. By now, I have spots that I systematically check until I bump into them. After that the fishing is usually really good the rest of the trip. We also catch all the northern and bass we want when targeting them. I've never been to Ima but do know it has lake trout.
For our next trip we are thinking about pushing past Ima towards Thomas, Fraser, and Sagus.
You really can't go wrong with that area. Ensign is also excellent for walleye.

Might consider Knife or Lac La Croix (LLC) for BWCA only options. Both are excellent fishing lakes with lots of options.
Knife and several small lakes near it hold Lake Trout (Amoeber, Topaz, Cherry, Little Knife, etc). Kekekabic as well. Knife holds Walleye.
LLC holds Lake Trout and Walleye. Oyster which is a long day trip from Lady Boot Bay on LLC also holds Lake Trout as does Takucmich. Most adjacent lakes on the eastern end (e.g. Pocket, Ge-be, Agnes) hold Walleye.
Crooked doesn't hold Lake Trout but some lakes close by in Quetico do - such as McAree, Roland, Argo, Elk, Cone, and Bart. BWCA lakes below Crooked do not hold Lake Trout. Iron Lake doesn't hold Lake Trout either. Crooked, Iron, and most BWCA side lakes in the area hold Walleye.

Crooked or Ensign would be my suggestion but I'm not an expert. Both have walleye and are near lakes with lakers.

Just planning for future trips. Any ideas on where to go when the main goal for fishing is to catch walleye but have day trips to lake trout lakes with good odds at catching a lake trout. Thinking about the Disappointment, Jordan, and Ima area.

Knife will give you the chance at a grand slam in a day if done right. Plus some neighboring "trout" lakes if you want to target them elsewhere for some reason

Knife , IMO , ideally i would say before the water temps hit the 60's , as the walleye fishing would be better but the lakers are going to start going deeper when the water hits about that 52*-55*
