One small double sided Plano box. The 3450-23 Double Sided works well for me.

That's exactly what I do. I'll have a small box for live bait stuff and hooks, sinkers, hardware. Then I'll have one with plugs, spoons and spinners etc. If you go out fishing just put them in a day pack.
Definitely don't want the big heavy tackle box.

Savage Voyageur: "The key is get the Plano with the seal on it. " I have moved to this, also. Lets you leave it out wherever without worry. Bugs me that these have at least 1/4" less height than the comparable non-waterproof boxes, however.

What does everyone do for packing/storing tackle? My plan was to bring a couple Plano boxes and shove them in one of the bags, does anyone have a better plan?
I don't want to bring my whole heavy tackle box.

One flat Plano box per person. Everyone in our group knows that's the limit.

I took way too much fishing gear out there this year. Picked up an Okuma travel rod that comes with a soft case and a tiny tackle box. Pretty easy to cut out more of the foam to fit a larger tackle box in there, and that's what I did. I'll dial it in this fall and see how it works out on next years trip.

One Waterproof Plano box. Open up the box and start filling it. When its full, I’m done. The key is get the Plano with the seal on it.

I'm trying something new on my trip next week and have high hopes. We'll see how it turns out.
Rather than taking a day pack, I'm taking a larger tackle bag but only about 1/3 full of a couple small Plano flats. Using the rest of the space for all the day pack stuff.

The folks in my group each bring one Plano waterproof box, either 3600 or 3700, and one or two ziplocks full of soft plastics.
