Never used the omega system but I have used the Scotty system with the rail adapter. Its pretty nice and is also lightweight. The rod holder itself pops out for easy transport and leaves the part attached to the rail in place. It also doubles as a mount for electronics and other items.

I've frequented the BWCA for many years and many trips now, and I'm always tweaking how I troll while fishing. This year, I will be fishing in a Wenonah Basswood 17, with the internal gunwale rail system. I am in search of what products people use to connect to this system.

Before purchasing a rod holder system I was told about, I'd like some opinions on the Omega rod holder system and specifically what extra parts are needed. Is it the Omega + 4" arm + 90 degree adapter??? Or the Omega Pro + 90 degree adapter? Or am I not even close on either of these?

If you wouldn't mind posting pics with specific info of what you've used in the Wenonah Basswood 17 with the internal gunwale rail system, that would be much appreciated!!
