I am going in over Memorial day via Bower Trout lake and ultimately base camping on Swan Lake. Swan Lake is listed to have a large population of Lake Whitefish and I am curious if anyone has angled for them and how? I also would be interested in hearing from anyone that has been on these lakes and how is the fishing?

Thanks

The method used here is to use a small hook (size 10 or smaller)with a redworm. They have really soft mouths that can sense that hook. Don't horse them in or you'll just rip off their lips.

My best attemt at setup.

Hook w/worm-------------foot-o-line-----swivel--slip-sinker----

So they can pick up the worm and don't feel any weight behind it.

Areas where streams enter the lake would be my first choice.

Good Luck,

Hex,

Thanks for the advice, how good is Lake Whitefish?

If you like trout, you'll probably like whitefish. Very similar texture and flavor.
