Buying my license is a tradition! I still have many of my hunting licenses from my teenage years (now 69), and most of my fishing licenses from 'far-away' places like Montana and Labrador. They are pleasant reminders of a great passion and tradition. For Minnesota I always buy my license when I get there--always at the Holiday in GM--it sets the table, so to speak, and I'm on my way! (and now at my age I don't need a trout stamp--but never resented buy one when I did--money well spent!)

I also miss the various actual state stamps.

I'll pick up my annual non-resident license sometime in the next month or so. I've always appreciated Minnesota's husband-wife 7-day license, but unfortunately the wife's making neither trip with me this year.

I have a lifetime fishing and deer license. If I live a couple more years it will be a good deal. If I live 30 more years it will be a very good deal! Marc

I wonder how many have the lifetime license. I think we had a post awhile back and quite a few did.
One great thing if you or your kids are moving out of Minnesota but coming back to fish or hunt. It is a super sweet deal for you to buy the lifetime resident license.

No need to buy a fishing license until needed. The government has enough of my Money. I will buy it right before opener.

I wish Ohio had a lifetime resident license. But at $19 a year it is still a good bargain. I figure I fish at least 190 times a year in Ohio, so it costs me about 10 cents each time I go. It has been a number of years since the last time I was checked. I consider it fishing insurance, plus it goes towards a good cause. I picked up a new one last week.
