Have you at least fired it up in the back yard yet? I'm really curious about these for canoe tripping.

92 % gave it a 4 or 5 star with no 1's that is pretty good. I picked up a mkettle from the titaniumgoat for 60.00 on sale. I fired it up in the backyard two times and it is nice. It is still a little heavy, but not bad(just over 1 lb. When I look down inside I can see some spots. These may have been on the shelf for awhile. I gave it a good boil. There is also the backcountryboiler. It holds more and is lighter.

Will do.

I've fallen out of the habit, but I used to keep a pouch handy to put in twigs, etc. as I'm hiking. That made life a bit easier when I got to camp and didn't have to worry about scrounging it up. I'll put this practice back into place for this stove.

Currently, I use either a normal campfire, a canister fuel stove, or an alcohol fuel stove. I've been thinking of getting a wood gas one for a while now and picked up this cheap one. It's a bit large to pack over my other options but it would certainly mean that I don't run out of fuel.

Looks like a great design. Funny that the extended warranty is $6 for a $15 stove.

:) I don't know, Tomster - all those complex electronics and fragile moving parts . . . it might be worth it!
