I have used flypaper and it works well. I thought the patches came with double stick tape. I have also used duck tape.

I just spray my hat with repellent. Works well for me.

I get enough buzzing around my head as it is. What would I want to keep them trapped there?

The loggers I knew in the U.P. of Michigan all used fly paper on their hats when working in the woods especially if it was hot out.

Deer flies typically land first on the highest point of their intended victim......

I wear an O.R. Sun runner hat and keep the snap on cape in my pocket. If a persistent one shows up I quickly snap on the cape and that offers protection for ears and neck. The last thing I want is to be breathing spray or some auto deodorant all day.

What are people using to put the fly paper on their hats?
Where do you purchase the stuff?
Thanks

I saw they were selling the stuff you want at Fleet Farm in Minneapolis.

I bought some of these last summer after being assaulted by deer flies. Look forward to giving them a try the year. Remember - they like that mid-tone french/royal blue color like on a Harmony barrel.

If you don't want to buy the patches then stick it to a piece of cardboard and pin it to your hat.

Why would you put fly paper on your hat? Blackflies? For flies we use the Vanilla auto air fresheners (the cardboard tree ones) hung around the button on the top of any ball cap to keep them away not catch 'em. Works real well. Gotta replace about every other day as the scent starts to fade. Maybe I completely missed the point if so disregard.

I've never noticed the odor of spray on my hat. On my face is quite another issue.

They are for deer flies, to stop that annoying buzzing around your head thing they do.
