I don't know much abut these things, don't know that I have a use for one, but Bass Pro Shops has a Spot Gen3 for 75 bucks (after a $75 rebate). If a person wanted one this might be a good time.

I think everyone has them for 50% off. It looks like a manufacturer sponsored rebate that goes into September. Is the cheapest Spot plan $200 per year? I have an InReach that I share with my brother. I love the fact that we use it 3 - 4 times per year and I can activate it for 30 days at a time. I pay $25 per year and either $15 or $35 per month for the months that I activate it depending on the plan I choose.
