The GSI/REI etc plates fit very well in the bottom of a 12x20" REI stuff sack. On top of the plates go my 4 person GSI Pinnacle cookset in its bucket thingy. I also usually carry a griddle for pancakes & hash browns, it has its own stuff sack (Outdoor products maybe?) to keep campfire soot off of the pack or its contents.

Pillow case from Goodwill. If necessary, cut down and add drawstring.

Thanks for the tips guys!

Should have said rinse with lake water, not wash in the lake.

Same here, worked well for years.

It seems like at least half of the stuff I purchase that is outdoors related comes in some sort of sack that I won't use. I have one of those plastic storage bins full of misc. bags with some sort of closure. I recycle those and find ones that fit my purpose, like for cookware.

Just look for the cheapest stuff sacks you can find. REI should be fine.

My MSR kit came with a decent bag. I have also used CCS stuff sacks; everything Dan makes is da bomb!

Looking for ideas on sacks to put cookware in after use or packing up. I know some come with sacks or bags, but looking for something that's durable and will protect everything else in my pack from heat (minimal), ash, etc.

Generally we just wash them off a bit in the lake to clean them up and cool them down, then throw them in the pack.

What does everyone use, if any?

I think that Kondos Outdoors has some nice sacks for your purpose.
