If it is their standard ash yoke, it should last for many years. It is the same yoke that is on their outfitter canoes.

The only piece of wood on my Spirit II that I haven't replaced is the Ash yoke. It'll do fine, just make sure you get some pads.

Getting ready to take my first BW trip in my brand new Wenonah 17 Wenonah canoe but I'm not sure the original yoke is sturdy enough to survive the rugged portaging. I'm most likely going to purchase the adjustable sling style pads, but wanted input about replacing the yoke as well.

The original yokes on canoes have survived innumerable BW trips. So unless you plan to subject it to some highly unusual abuse . . . ? :) It should be fine.

I agree with Ausable and Boonie. I've had the factory Wenonah yokes on both my boats for 20-plus years. Quite robust.
