I recently picked up a used Wenonah canoe with trimmable bow seat. My wife was saying that the seat was sliding backwards while she was paddling, and was having to re-trim constantly. Are we missing a clip to hold the seat in place? I'm picturing an outside diameter grabbing spring clip like on weight lifting bars, but I couldn't find anything on their website about a replacement.

Contact your local Wenonah dealer or give Wenonah a call. I'm sure they'll get you squared away promptly.

I have not seen these at any canoe outfitting supply. I guess you need to find a supplier such as a hardware store, Tractor Supply, Grainger, McMaster Supply or Amazon. Seems like a very handy item.

A spring or "pinch" collar from a weight lifting set is what's commonly used. They're easy to get.Sporting goods store or the go to Amazon. Heck I bet Walmart or Target has them You only need one. Just un bolt one side of the slider rail and slip it on

Hose clamp. Not easily adjustable, but won't move on you.

On my Spirit II, there are a series of holes drilled in one of the support tubes on which the seat slides. A pin is inserted in one of the holes to position the seat. It looks like a big safety pin. This is how is came from the factory.

That's the type I've seen on wenonahs recently at sawbill.

I ordered a pair of clamps from Wenonah a few years back to replace the the "paper clip" types I had on my MN II and my Advantage.

Already mentioned but worth another shot. Hose clamps are pretty easy to attach and they won't move once the screw has been tightened. Most pocket knives have some sort of screwdriver attachment so making adjustments to trim should be eminently doable in the field.
That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

I just wanted to follow up, and mention that the 1" weight lifting bar clips worked perfectly on the seat tube. Easy to adjust on the fly, no slipping at all and cheap.

snapper " Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, but I like the idea of being easily adjustable to cope with changing conditions/tacks. And hose clamps can be pretty sharp.
