This question has already come up twice on the product's listing on the Duluth Pack website, and the company has dutifully answered it both times. It's an easy one. Far less thorny than the ones it's getting on Twitter and by email, which go more along the lines of: Why are you marketing a bag specifically to people trying to hide a gun from the general public? Tuesday morning, Duluth Pack tweeted excitedly about this new offering, illustrating its launch with a photo of a model gripping a gun which rests perfectly, comfortably, stylishly, just inside the designated pistol pocket This question has already come up twice on the product's listing on the Duluth Pack website, and the company has dutifully answered it both times. Way too many people who write or post comments on political issues do it in a very poor manner. Issues like the second amendment, like abortion, like taxes, are issues with competing principles. For example, the second amendment allows having guns to protect against government tyranny, but also has the side effect of allowing in society a weapon that can be used in crime. Taxes allow the government to work, but do not fairly share the burden. Instead of recognizing these competing principles and attempting to persuade people that a certain balance might be best, posters act like the other side is incredibly stupid and should be insulted to no end. In my opinion, insults are clearly counterproductive. They may get some people on your side of the issue to cheer you, but no one on the other side of an issue to reconsider. |
