Well, based on that I’ll guess it is a Guide Special but maybe one of the experts can confirm. That’s cool and gives you a lot of info.

Hello all, first post here!

So, I picked up a '74 Sawyer canoe. Needs a little work so he let it go for $125. Not sure what model it is, and would like to get a few parts to make it like new again.

Has grey speckle paint on the inside, and white tractor seats mounted on aluminum frames.

Hull ID: SAW016480774

If it helps, canoe is 18'+\- long, 36 1/2" wide, about 12" in the middle and about 17" at each end. Would really like to know what model this is. Pretty sure it's just fiberglass.

Welcome to the forum and owning a Sawyer. I’ve got a Sawyer Summersong solo that is also that sort of fiberglass.

In the photo gallery, look for a member named hanssolo. Among his galleries are an album of Sawyer canoe catalog and spec pages. That might help you narrow it down.

A few more photos might help, too. There are a few people around here with great skill at figuring out old canoes.

Thanks Andy. After looking at some of the pics from hanssolo I went outside and ran my fingers inside the gunwale and found this....

Thank you! I'm going to have to do some fiberglass repair and a repaint. I painted a hobie cat awhile back but I forget what paint I used, I know it was from West. Any thoughts on the exact type I need? Will be doing the roll and tip process. Also, the Sawyer emblems are badly faded and warped, does anyone know where I can get a couple clean ones?
