I like the Scotty brand rod holder on the aluminum canoes I paddle. Use the search button at the top of the page. There is 10 pages of posts on rod holders.

There are many clamp on types. I prefer the Tite-Lok brand.

Here is a tutorial for you.

I don't know exactly what your needs are, but I use a thwart clamp and the Tite-Lok. It can be removed at any time and quickly attached with a thumb screw when it's time to go fishing.

I'm looking for a removable rod holder. I need one that fits in the front....upper right corner of the canoe....fixed just under the carry lip. Hoping to find one that keeps the rod out of the way and allows me to paddle from both sides. I can't drill holes and again, it needs to be removable. Anyone have any ideas or has anyone built something that would work?? Thanks in advance.
