I used to paddle a friend's Curtis Dragonfly occasionally and it struck me as a comfy all around boat with a ton of river capability (more than needed for where we paddled). But it never struck me as "fast" and I wonder if Swift is struggling a bit to position this boat within their line-up. I think it's an alternative to the Northstar Phoenix and Hemlock SRT (high versatility, decent flatwater speed or maybe "good for a river boat", comforting volume and depth, very high river capability).

There are limiting production of the Dragonfly to 15 boats, and it sounds like it is only for 2023.

On the YouTube introduction they mentioned that the mold is not in the best condition, and would only last through 15 or 16 boats..."
It's a great little video with some interesting history on the molds!

That's interesting. Do you know why only 15 boats? I think the Curtis and Colden Dragonflies are already pretty rare so a Swift Dragonfly sounds like a nice prize for a canoe collector.

I also missed that text-and I have never seen a tumpline used on a canoe.

Thanks for sharing. Great video for sure. I love the respect paid to Dave Curtis. Also like the part where Bill lifts the hull and says "look how rounded the hull is" and sets it down before the camera can see it.
