Nicely done. I was on a "wanting to make a paddle" kick not long ago but never purchased a spokeshave that I think makes things much easier.

Well done! Very pretty pattern, nicely assembled, and I love the coloring of the wood. Oh, and cool nickname too!

I just finished making this paddle and was pretty proud of it.
Handle is basswood, with walnut trim and cherry blade, finished with teak oil.
I got the nickname Zasquatch on our trip 2 yrs ago and have kind of latched onto it. I even found a branding iron that matches.

Do you intend to use it or just show it off??

That paddle is a keeper. Very nice. A lot of Canadians use the Voyegeur style paddle for their canoe trips. American’s do too but not as many.
I love the knot in the cherry. Knots are Gorgous.

Beautiful. Glad to hear you plan to use it. You could always make shorter ones for novelty sales….. hint hint

Thanks for all the nice words! I am really enjoying the process of making these, so I plan for it to be used. If it gets damaged or broken I get to build more!

I also recommend that everyone gets a branding iron. My wife is going to get tired of finding tiny zasquatches on all our wooden furniture in the house.
