Nemo Switch goes to 57" and should not require a crawl. I like it for a solo car camping tent, but it could fit 2 with normal 20" pads. |

shouldertripper: "SD Nomad 6 for $255 I like it... I'm a fan of the plastic "windows" for view. Good price, nice size, decent weight for what you get. |

I could get something like the Marmot 6p Limestone, but it weighs like 18 lbs. We've been using a Kelty 6, which is really simple to set up, and I like aluminum poles for quality, but it weighs 15 lbs and i'd like to get something that weighs less. When I discuss it with the wife, she says she doesn't mind the extra weight, and is generally the one carrying the tent across the portage. I'd like to find something else that packs down smaller, weighs less, and get it into the pack. She's not interested in trying Hammocks. I've been looking at the CCS lean 2 or lean 3. But I'd really like to see it person. Is there somewhere where Dan sets those up for viewing? Or is someone going to be setting one up at the spring get together? We have down sleeping bags. I don't want to get them wet, as they don't dry out very well. I've got concerns about condensation. Will our sleeping bags get wet from Condensation? Is there anyway to configure it slightly taller than 5 feet? LIke maybe 6'? I'm 6'1". I was looking around youtube to see if there was a good video, and i'm not really seeing one. Would you go with a marmot limestone 6P, CCS lean 2, or something else? She has to be able to stand up in it. We don't mind double portaging. |

Sierra Designs Nomad 6 Probably not worth $500 to save two pounds from your Kelty. Kelty has the 11 pound Tallboy 4 but it has fiberglass poles and no vestibules. MSR has the Habiscape 4 but it's nearly 13 pounds and $500 too. |

plmn: "I can't help with the CCS leans, but I've liked my Sierra Designs tents. The Nomad 6 is less than 13 pounds and 6' tall. My Kelty is done. It's been put through alot, but the zippers are failing, and the floor has been patched a few times. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll take a look at the Sierra Designs Nomad 6. and MSR. |

BWPaddler: "Do you have any room for compromise? Well that's an interesting tent. Kinda reminds me of the CCS lean, with a built-in floor. We have exped megamat's that are pretty wide. The wife would want more floor space than that one. Unless we packed two. |

plmn: "I can't help with the CCS leans, but I've liked my Sierra Designs tents. The Nomad 6 is less than 13 pounds and 6' tall. I like the bag. Looks very sturdy. There is one site that is selling them for $303.00. Does it get pretty hot in there? My kelty is darn near unbearable over 75 degrees. It's got very poor ventilation, and gets really hot in the afternoons. Tough to take a nap. |

It does look like the ventilation is over a foot higher up on the Nomad than my Yahi, so it's not going to be the most breathable tent out there. The Limestone 6P looks to be updated. I can't tell if the mesh is the same as the old one or not. I looks like it doesn't have any mesh at all but that can't be right, it's probably just poor quality photos. |

analyzer: "BWPaddler: "Do you have any room for compromise? Yeah, not enough room if you have wide pads. Carrying two would put you at about the weight you are trying to get under. Nemo's Aurora High-rise has the height you want but I think it is 13-15 pounds. |
