As much as I'd like to take the credit, I got the idea from someone on this very board last summer.

I carry mine in with the tent poles in thier bag.
GG sells a nice tent pole bag.

I took a piece of pipe insulation; I duct taped the ends down about 1 inch on one end and 2 inches on the other end. I slide the folded up saw into the 2 inch end and pull 1 inch end over the other end of the saw. This seems to work well.

But then I can't sew...

This is for the 21 inch sven saw is that what you have?
I just measured mine and those are correct unless you have the shorter version?

I am need of some assistance, please. I am wanting to sew a case for my large Sven Saw, but I currently do not have it with me (1300 miles away). I know someone out here has one nearby, and am hoping one of you will be willing to measure it so I can sew a canvas case for it. I am looking to make a basic canvas sleeve for it, so I need a few dimensions to work off.

Length = 23 1/8 inches to end of wingnut
Width = 1 9/16 inches
Thickness = 5/8 inches

How about the portion not inside the cover/handle? Length of this portion exposed?
