In my experience, if the vault fits horizontally in a pack, then two will fit vertically in the pack, which seems a more stable load.

I use GG Solo for 2 of the vaults (little room on top for more stuff) or any of the other GG packs which are all larger... Also my CampTrails portage packs (both models) fit 2 vaults side by side.

Are you trying to fit FOUR in one pack? Can you carry four full vaults at once?

I own 3 vaults of that size, but can't think of when I've ever had more than two in a single pack - mostly because I'm trying to balance things out.

OldFingers, I'm not sure if this is the one your referencing or not. The pack is an army surplus alice pack I picked up for $10. My brother welded up the frame out of some aluminum and we just strap the barrels to the frame.

4 will fit in a CCS Guide Pack.

DeanL,
Not it was similar to yours however the barrels were on the pack frame horizontally and the person had cut some wood 2x2s for brackets for them to fit on better.

All right, let see if this works.

Ok, that worked. Sort of. Don't know how to turn the one picture. Ranger beer is for size reference.( and tasty) two bear vaults laying on top of each other inside a Ccs rucksack. Fits nicely with a little room for small miscellaneous items. Oh yeah, in case you didn't know Cooke custom sewing makes great products.

We take 4 500 bearvaults each year with us. We just carry them one at a time. Looking for a solution or pack to carry the bearvaults in. Any ideas?

I know others have posted that two will fit nicely side by side in a Cooke Custom Sewing rucksack.

I used to bring three of them in a CCS pioneer pack--1 standing upright on one side of the pack and 2 stacked horizontally. There's also a little room for other stuff on top of them.

Can probably get all 4 in CCS guide pack but they may not fit/carry as well.

I know someone once before here on the forums had gotten an old aluminum external frame pack frame and secured two of them to that horizontally.

You might look over Dan's pack comparison chart . The solo food pack looks like a possibility but so do some of the others. If a pack is too big then the question is what would you put around them to keep them from flopping around.
