Lake One to Insula is a Sensible distance depending on weather you want to paddle or bust ass, only you can know this.

Years ago (when I was younger) I recall our group of two making it to Alice lake in one day from the Lake One EP. We single portaged (mostly) and I don't think we got a particularly early start.

I went to Alice in one day once. It's a long pull though and I haven't done it one day since the first time. Insula is where I'd head the first day.

My wife and I have taken our young boys to Insula via Lake One the last 2 years. An early start has easily gotten us to the north end of Insula in the early afternoon. Obviously conditions play a huge factor but I would think the south end of Alice would be in the realm of possibility.

Depending on how fast you move and the wind. Lake One to south end of Alice it is about 22 miles and 10 hours. If you move and average of 2.5 miles an hour.
I would suggest that you spend your next day getting to Boulder through Adams. Lots of folks head to Alice for the beach sites on the east side.
If you head east out of Alice - along the river - you can get to Boulder in a total of about 16+ hour paddle. All this depends on weather, wind and your rate of travel. Double portaging, you might not be able to maintain the 2.5 miles per hour.

Probably Insula. Just remember, even though you're a long way from Lake one when you get to Adams, there will be people in the area that entered from Kawishiwi.

If you want to get to Adams the fastest Kawishiwi lake entry would be easier. A very hard day could have you to Adams, single portaging when we did it. Back when we did that it was sort of a destination lake, most of the camps were taken by groups like us basecamping—-just a warning you could have a hard day and not find a camp. Not likely but be prepared.

We’ve done Lake One to Alice a few times in one day, it is doable, I would say plan on Insula as a stop then go further if ya have time.

Planning my second solo trip; entering Lake One and working my way through the numbered Lakes towards Adams. If I start early (first light), push pretty hard and I don't have any major problems, which lake am I likely to make camp on my first night? I do double portage. Would I be able to make it to Alice or is that just not very realistic? I'm looking to get away from the crowds pretty quick and spend about 7 or 8 days out. I'd just like as many of those days as possible to be away from real busy areas. Thoughts?

I have not entered at Lake One, but in 2016 (see trip report) did go from Kawishiwi Lake to Alice, then looped to Thomas, Fraser, Sagus, Cap, Boulder, Adams and back out. I think you might enjoy that little loop. If you think you might and have any questions, let me know.
