Every place you haven't been is new! Go there, and then go to the next lake, and then the next. Why not pick an area you haven't been to, and then plan on covering lots of miles this year. Take note of places you like and then return to those in future years and spend more quality time at those places.

Maybe post a list of EPs and lakes you've already visited, what type of trips you like, fish species you might be after, how far you like to travel each day, whether you base camp or move constantly... Lots of folks here will be happy to help. I'm sure that the urgency part is about securing a permit for EPs that may be in high demand. I don't blame you; it's getting late for some choice spots and dates. Good luck!

I've been to the BWCA every year since I was 16. We have entered off the Gun Flint Trail the last couple times and are looking for something new. Any suggestions.

What are the preferences for your group? Are you basecampers or travelers? Is fishing an interest? Is your cadence to break camp every day or every few days? Can your group handle long portages? What is the average length of time that you all like to be out in the backcountry ? If you post up a bit more information, you will get plenty of suggestions!

Easier to know if you are 18 or what age up to 81. If close to 18, the map is open and I would consider other options such as near Ely. JOHNNY 5 needed input, so do we from you. Most of us are somewhat older to a lot older types. We do not likely see the major urgency stated since ice out is in the future and few if any trips will be taken starting Monday.
