Was there last week. Portages and such are fully clear, well traveled. I checked out a few of the sights on Disappointment on my way out and all looked well used and having good conditions. Plenty of firewood from the blowdown and with a little looking a good supply of wood from beaver sticks blown up on the shores.
I was on Insula during the Pagami Creek Fire and have returned to the area a couple times to see what is happening. I think you will enjoy seeing the changes mother nature brought to the area.
have a good trip.

There were at least two large hanging sites where I stayed, enough I could extend my 10x12 tarp and not touch branches. Other sites I paddled by looked to have good hanging options so I suspect you will hang just fine. enjoy.

The island site a little ways from portage to Snowbank seemed nearly leveled. Thunder box was quite ecposed. This from a month after blowdown.

Thanks for the input folks. Mostly I was curious if we'd be able to use our hammocks. Sounds like that shouldn't be a problem.

Nice to know that around Disappointment the trail is in good shape. The rest of the Kek, from what I have heard from folks, is not a priority like the "regular" portages. The Kek Trail Club often cleans up the trail but I'm guessing they have been quite busy with the winds we've had that last few years.

July 2016 my daughter and I planned a trip to Lake Disapointment. The night before we arrived a large storm toppled hundreds of trees across the road on the way to Snowbank. We were unable to get to the entry point and diverted our trip to LIS. Had a good time. But, next week we are planning on going back to Disappointment via Snowbank. Can anyone who has been there since July 2016 give me an idea of the condition of the campsites on Disappointment?

I was there May 2017. Everything was fine. I saw a lot evidence of that storm on the 140r portage between Snowbank and Disappointment Lake.

I was just up there in June we put in on snowbank and went to parent and then disappointment. we camped on disappointment for two nights then portaged back out directly to snowbank. Everything in that area was in good shape. we had a great time on disappointment there is some good fishing and a good spot for cliff jumping (about 20Ft). the bugs shouldn't be as bad on the portages as there were for us. have fun stay safe!

We hiked the snowbank/disappointment/kek loop last September and stayed on the campsite on the west side of disappointment. It was pristine. Decent hammocking spot, elevated above the water. Careful going down the slope. Don't ask how my wife knows. The Kek, on the other hand, was a mess. The recent fire there made for no shade, no scenery, and the trail really difficult to follow.
