Anyone know anything about the timber Frear lake loop......accessibility? fishing? campsites? kid friendly? I apologize if mentioning this place is blasphemy considering it is not in the BWCA but seemed a bit appealing to me considering it's remoteness and fish numbers on the DNR website. Any info. woulduld be great.

There is a ton of info if you do the search that cowdoc suggested. I weeded through the very same search yesterday and found a ton of good info.
Very kid friendly... I am doing it with 3 kids under 14.
I could email you with what I found but you don't have an email set up for your profile.

Used to do it with our kids when they were younger. Fishing used to be good. Haven't been there for a while.
Frear is four miles from where my great aunt lived and seven miles from where my mother was born and raised. Wigwam Lake is where Grandma Baker had a wigiwam set up for rice or sugar camp or maybe trapping (not sure which).

They still have a ton of walleyes.I know a few people that go there every year, but are not big fishermen. There are a few campsites on about all of the lakes.
