I went through there a few weeks ago and was surprised to see the previously flooded area was no longer flooded. There was a little water but I walked right through. You should have no problems.

What is the current condition of the Oyster Lake to Hustler Lake portage? I read that this portage has been difficult in previous years. We will be going through on Sept. 9, 2014. Thanks.

I did it a week ago and it was just fine.

Is this the same place? This was July 16th at I think the wettest spot on that 310 rod portage.

That's good to hear. This is what it looked like on May 29,2011. Didn't think that we would ever make it through. Told my son it was a Kodak moment.

If this last photo is the WETTEST spot on the whole portage we will have smooth sailing.

Thanks, everyone for the feed back.

Has anyone does this portage recently? Looking for conditions to expect in July?

The portage has been repaired and has been for the last few years. You should have no problems.

Thanks both! The maps say it is 300 rods but some trip reports have it shorter around 240. Any insights? Thanks again for the tips.

I believe the correct distance is 310 rods. 240 is definitely incorrect.
