Thanks for the info. Heading into Quetico tomorrow, hitting Memroy Lane on Monday.

Has anyone done these this year? Just wondering what the conditions are? We’ll be going through in less than a week? Also any campsite info on Poohbah would be appreciated. I’ve marked those on the campsite database, but there weren’t that many. Any hidden gems? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't call it a gem but there is a site on the small island just south of H7, on the lower half of the lake. H7 was taken, so we checked out 32S farther north, which I didn't care for. After paddling to the north islands and finding all the sites taken, we headed back south again and found the unmarked island site. The landing on the south of the island wasn't good and the site had a few widow makers nearby but it is up high and closer to the Memory Lane portages.

First time?

A few tips. Not so bad if it's not hot or wet or buggy. From Poohbah your first order of business is to hydrate up. Drink lots of water, then drink lots more.

Your 1st leg seems to abruptly end in a beaver pond and the trail disappears. Resist any temptation to launch. To the right is a small rocky run off angling upward. Take it.

At the 1st small pond the portage is mismarked. Complicating the issue is an old blaze and a few cut trees. The trail starts, but soon ends. Do not be deceived. Continue past to the end of the small unnamed lake.........the correct portage is plainly evident about 100 yards distant.

The island site near the start of the memory lane portage is flat and decent. The main draw is walleye around the small islands just a stones throw from camp. Between the islands is deep water and I picked up a very nice laker as well.

Have fun.

About as expected. Had a little of everything, bog, elevation, we had a number of downed trees. I’d do it again though. Good luck!

@Maverick, Planning on doing Memory Lane this year in mid-June. How was it last year?
