For clarity, a "fire ring" is not a steel fire ring like you'd find in the BW. It's simply a collection of rocks in a circle.
It's legal to camp anywhere in Q. I think there are some stipulations to that, but I'd have to look up the rules.

More or less.....yes. Over the years, people have built some rather elaborate fire pits, but there is no fire grate, you bring your own. Also bring your little shovel to dig your cat holes.

And a lot of them have sitting logs around the fire, though I bring a chair as they often leave a lot to be desired.

Real quick question. Its been a few years, six actually, since I've been to Quetico. Heading in for Canadian opener. I'm trying to remember what "amenities" are at the campsites? Is it just a fire ring and some downed logs to sit on? Thanks!
