I have a permit reserved for the Nym Lake entry point on May 22. I got a call this morning from Quetico Provincial Park informing me that the Park will not open until May 23 due to ice conditions. Damn the luck. All cancellation and/or reschedule penalties are waived and I can get a full refund if I wish but it's still an annoyance.

Yeah, Quetico called back just now and told me I could Self Permit on the 22nd so long as I had cash to put in the Self Permit envelope. They no longer accept credit card payment due to fraud. Luckily I have a wad of Canadian cash on hand so this will all work out OK.

We got called and told the same for PP/Sarah entry.....so yes

We had the same thing happen to us last Spring. Cache Bay was ice free- but if they see anything in the bay they won't land the plane- so Janice was not going to be there until the day after we planned on going in.
We were told to "go ahead in" as we had planned- no official check in and payment etc.. we had the permit and the RBC in hand- then checked out with Janice and paid up as we left.
