It looks more like a stream than a portage. Maybe you were supposed to portage around this, not over it.

Looks like the beginning of the Badwater portage to me

The North Portage from Sunday to Basswood was even wetter--the hilly sections were flowing like a trout stream.

"Big Agony" is between Sunday Lake and Meadows Lake enroute to Agnes. "Little Agony", between Meadows and Agnes, is just as rocky but a little shorter (~140 rods vs ~190 rods).

It's the worst I've ever seen. I've got a full crew of guys working on it currently and I'll be out there myself this next week. Lots of rock turnpike to build. Then it will be a ton of check dams.
