The Darky River journey from Wicksteed to Minn is reportedly a 7-8 hour ordeal instead of the usual 2-3 hours due to fallen trees (Source: Zups Resort 8/5/14).

Does anyone have reports of specific portage conditions in Quetico following the 7/22 storm? Near-term, I'd like to know how bad the obstacles are on the Meadows portages. But any QPP portage reports would be helpful since we are planning our Fall trip.

Fallen trees blocking McAree rapids and Black Robe portages.

The Meadows portages are so well used, that they would be the first to be cleared out--either by park staff or users. I would be more concerned about some of the lesser-used interior routes.

Thanks for the reports. Any info on the portage conditions (or blowdowns at campsites) to travel from Agnes to Basswood via the S-chain?

We went over the Meadows portages the day before the storm and camped that night nearby on Poacher Lake, exiting the next day after the storm via the mile-plus long Poacher portage. The storm was not very bad in that area, we had no problems on the Poacher portage, so any downed trees nearby would have been minimal. The storm seems to have been much worse at the west end of the BW/Q and south of Ely around Babbitt.

Just did Meadows Portages on Monday, there was no sign of any storm related issues on the portages.
