Thanks for the tips, not sure why it posted 4 times??? Hopefully the admins will delete the duplicates. Seems like it isn't too fool hardy to try it in one day depending on what time we hit the water. My group is small & experienced-so might be doable.

About 8 hours not including the portage from the parking lot to the BH put-in. That will get you on Jean, but Jean is a big lake lake so figure longer to a campsite.

We did that trip a few years ago and left the Beaverhouse ranger station around 10:15 if my memory is right. Got to our campsite on LITTLE Jean at around 5:00ish, but we had a nice little tailwind, too. Nothing major, but the wind was at our backs all the way down Q Lake. That also included a stop for lunch.

Not sure which of the 4 threads to reply to, so I'll pick this one I guess...
Most times when I've done it and others have as well, it's two days, but if you really hauled butt and started early you could do it in one (that would be a pretty tough long day though).
There are a handful of good campsites on Q lake not too far from where you turn south to do the Conk connection to Jean, that would be good choices for a camp in between.
What's nice is, you can get from BH to Jean in 3 portages (in fact on the way back it can be two at times, when the creek from Jean to Conk is high enough).

What is the normal time it takes a group to get to Jean Lake from Beaverhouse? Looks like a ways on the map, but portages look to be minimal.

I did it a few times and never had an issue with making it to Jean Lake on the first day. But I don't know what time you are starting, how big your group is, how well they can paddle, nor do I know which way the wind is blowing. If you start early, have strong paddlers and the wind isn't blowing hard out of the east, you should be OK.

Good point from the crowd that it depends a lot on wind, and more so what your group is like. Also put-in time, portage style, all the usual stuff. None of the portages are long.
Basically it can be one pretty big day, or one really big day, or two easier days, depending on all the factors.
I personally also don't like trying to make a camp real late in the day, but that's just me, others don't mind it. So I don't usually go for very long days unless it is a day trip out and back from a base camp.

If you don't make it to Jean on the first day, all is not lost. The fishing on Quetico can be pretty good!
