The various X's were my marks on my map for possible camp sites from various sources of all kinds. I tossed most of them out - except the beach site that I pointed out and the "3 star" marked. But the 3 star is generous rating. The pictos are actually easy to find. Some are quite faded - but others still very bright. Can send some photos if needed. Can't really miss them. Also - don't overlook the logging artifacts marked on the map. Fun to find this stuff. Can send more photos. One more note - I never made it to the river. Wanted to fish it but never got there. Great fishing always slowed me down! On my list of things to do when I return to that area. Send me an Email - I can send some photos and more info that might be helpful. Good paddling Old Hoosier |

quote billconner: " trip report Older guys get confused: 1V, 1U, 1A. The dart bulleye is 1A as I just corrected myself on the Old Hoosier posting. |

My preference was a beach camp site on an island facing south/west. Very level, multiple tent pads, and can hang hammocks also. See map below. Site was also very near some nice pictos. And the fishing comments might be helpful. Don't know the site number, but the guys here can help. The open westward site takes a lot of wind. We used a tarp for shelter. But it is a very peasant site. Final note - this is a zero portage trip. Once you get to the water - you only paddle.:) Hope this helps. Old Hoosier |

Is there an easy way to locate your own reports? I'm sure it was in trip report forum. |

Don't go through trouble sending pictures unless they are easy to retrieve (in a trip report?). The pictos should be easy to find but by Furtman's directions one panel is off to one side and perhaps easily missed. I would like to go to the river. Oh, I will check out the logging artifacts. Thanks again for your help! |

From Furtman's book the pictos are not ALL easy to spot it seems. No portage trip: my right 74 year old knee is acting up and I think that trip would be just what the doctor orders. I'll take it easy from the parking lot to the Lake. |

A few more photos sent. And some minor notes that might be of use. Good paddling! And let me know how the river looks. Old Hoosier |
