Thanks for the update on the water levels!

Can you give details of your route, please? We're trying to get to Chatterton Falls the first day and Kawnipi the second. How far did you get the first day?

Spot any moose, bears, or wolves on that route?

Favorite campsites? Not to miss sites?

Will you post a trip report soon?

Thanks!

Stanton to Chatterton (Split Rock Falls) is possible but from French Lake would be a big stretch. I have also done Split Rock to McKenzie bay in one day. We double portaged.
You will earn it but it's all good.

I'm curious too as we will be going that way in Sept.

I paddled through there the second week of June and there was plenty of water. Hard to imagine it dropping that much from where it was when I was there that you would have to pull your canoe the length of that river. We did have to cross several beaver dams though. I'm going through there again the third week of September.

We'll actually be going through there on September 7th from Stanton Bay. On our way north to south through the Quetico. Two week trip!

Has anyone traveled through the Deux Rivieres area into the north arm of Sturgeon lately? Is it paddle-able or is it a muddy mess to pull through? We are heading there at the end of August.

We just did a north-to-south French to Cache Bay trip and water levels were moderate the whole way. I've done the same trip with water levels low - much less struggle on portages this year.
