Excuse me... I know that as an ex health teacher, and ex coach we use to encourage athlete that were about to embark upon a physical endeavor to take in carbs for fuel to burn... And myself normally, no matter how much food I eat, even extra carb loading and otherwise lose about 10 pounds in a week in the BWCA... I know that when your body runs out of fuel to burn... it starts burning protein... or muscle... The Atkins diet may not be the best thing for the BWCA in my book... but then again... that is just my opinion... for what it is worth... ha ha

for a lady going low carb. Wasn't as difficult as I thought it might be.

Low carb pasta, combined with packaged tuna or chicken works great. LC bars for breakfast and snacks. Extra bacon and breakfast sausage, salami for lunch, steak or polish sausage for dinner with low carb 'potato pancakes'.

John & I did this last year for ourselves and it worked out quite well. Not the lightest pack I have ever carried but...

Anyone else try anything like this?
