I have used Medaglia D'oro and VIA. I much prefer the VIA. Medaglia D'oro tends to be a little "chalky" tasting. You also need to bring more Medaglia for a cup of coffee than you would VIA.

They make a coffee system similar ti mio now. Just squirt it into water and you're done. I tried it with milk an its comparable to the Starbucks energy drinks

I have some of this coffee and wish it tasted better. I bought thinking it would be a good alternative to Via, but I think the Via is much tastier.

I like the fact that it is sold in grocery stores too. I used to use that brand when I was backpacking. I switched over to Via but maybe it is time for a side-by-side blind taste test to see which I like better. "

Count me in for a blind taste test... always looking for better coffee options. And lighter weight is my goal this year!"

I would imagine it would be cheaper than Via!

In most grocery stores? Or is it slightly harder to find, like Nido?

You can find out if a store near you carries it here:

find store

I put in my zip and found several options. Haven't actually checked the store shelves yet but I will soon.

Wondered if I shouldn't drop this in with other coffee threads but thought it was a bit distinct and different. I know some folk like the Starbucks Vias but I think this is just as good and probably better. If you like traveling light but still want a robust cup of Joe check this stuff out.

I think you meant "Folger's."

I have never seen it in a grocery store........but then again I never seen Nido until I went into the Spanish section.

FWIW......if strong coffee is not your thing try the Blonde roast that Starbucks sells......Both the fresh brewed and the Via is quite good and avoids the bitter burnt taste so often associated with Starbucks coffee.
