We are headed up there the last week of June and I was curious to know how bad the black flies and mosquitos are this year so far?

Kevin,
Try posting your question in the trip planning forum instead of the trip report forum. My understanding is that both mosquitos and black flies have already begun due to how quickly it has warmed up, but my trip isn’t for another ten days.

Skeeters were out in force during morning and dusk during my June 1-June 9 trip through Knife, Kek, Fraser, Ima, and Ensign. I was a feast for them but I killed them with extreme prejudice. Didn't have any blackflies thankfully. Some bees and horseflies flying around us for a few days on the hot days, which was annoying, but they never landed on me or stung/bit me. I made it a point to keep moving. I was thankful that I could bundle up on this trip to prevent myself from being bitten without roasting due to all of the layers and tucked in clothes.

Can confirm. Mosquitos and black flies are out.
