Jdevries, Nice trip report. I have some questions about the Kawishiwi River if you don’t mind.

Dennisal,

I needed a day use permit for each day. They are free and available at each EP.

jdevries,

Really enjoyed the report. I've been into Greenstone too and I know exactly what you're talking about!

JDEVRIES

Did you need a permit for your trip? Just wondering?

Nice report and an option to soloing.

I've been to Greenstone but only hiked the portage to see the lake. It's easy to get to the portage from Farm Lake.

It would be interesting to to maybe triple portage in and spend 3 days or so. I'd like to see what fish are in there. There's probably been very little fishing pressure there. Could be something special. Then again, maybe not. :)

I enjoyed your report. Sounds like the fishing was pretty good.

jdevries,

Enjoyed reading, we were in the BW at the same time and I smiled every time you mentioned wind, as we had a lot as well. A neat way to enjoy the BW, thanks for your report.

Good report and good information...
I have often thought of doing what you did... and may try to do it next year if I get to take a trip at all. The Kawishiwi River looks like some good fishing! I know of a few other places which are good fishing but are anywhere from 9-10 miles from the entry point. That would be a long day solo, but not too bad tandem.

Very good report. You really managed to cover a lot of ground and catch a bunch of fish in the mix. I might like to try this sometime. Best, JG
