Nice write up and great photos. I love this area and it was fun to see your winter pictures. Quick correction, you crossed West Bearskin to reach Duncan, not East.

Kawishiwashy: "Nice trip report. Sounds like you won the weather lottery. For the lake trout, how deep were you fishing and where in the water column were you finding the fish? We were on Moss and found that if we set up on 50' depths, the fish were usually in the 30' range (20' off of bottom). Also, what did you put on your tip up and dead stick for bait?"
We had our best luck in 20-30 ft and they would come in about 3 ft off the bottom. Honestly we never tried anything deeper than 50 ft because we liked the structure that the 20-30 ft had to offer.
We used brined smelt on our tip-ups and dead stick.
