Glad you made it back! And yes I was also dreading the bathroom. I was using 40 percent deet and was not using that sparingly. I also laughed at the 2 person speed zipping. We also used that tactic but it felt like 20 got in every time the door was open.

Sounds like you had a good time. I am going up there July 8th and have been worried about the bugs. Ordered bug shirt, bringing two Thermacells, two different bug sprays and pee bottle for tent (not getting ate alive leaving tent at night). Also considering buying or renting tarp with bug netting. Have a second trip up there at end of August going in Baker Lake so I will see most of the lakes you were on. Great trip report.

The bug shirt was worth every penny.
But I made one minor modification that made it better. I replaced the wrist cord with my own shock cord that was slightly longer. This allowed me to loop the cord over my pinky or thumb which kept the sleeves from riding up my wrists during portages. I just don't trust that deet won't damage some gear and I don't want it getting on my fishing tackle so I really try not to use it. I wore gloves during portages to keep the skeeters from eating my hands alive. But the sleeves on the bug shirt would invariably ride up and expose some skin. A slightly longer cord solved the issue.

And add some zipper pulls to the hood.

I like the photo of the moose and calf swimming at dawn. The must have been a great experience
